St. Landry Parish Schools is proud to announce the appointment of Brandi D. Meche as the district’s new Supervisor of Elementary Education. Bringing over 27 years of experience in education, Mrs. Meche is a passionate advocate for elementary learning and a proven leader in English Language Arts and Social Studies instruction.
Throughout her career, Mrs. Meche has served as a classroom teacher, LATAAP Mentor and Assessor, REAL Tutor, RTI Coordinator, and Instructional Specialist. She holds a Master’s Degree in the Art of Teaching from Louisiana College and is certified in Elementary Education (Grades 1–8). She has delivered professional learning at the local, regional, and state levels, equipping educators with the tools needed to navigate change and strengthen instructional practices.
Her dedication to integrating history and culture into the classroom led her to serve as the Education Coordinator for the Opelousas Museum and Interpretive Center, where she developed K–12 pedagogy and strengthened school-community connections in St. Landry Parish.
Mrs. Meche believes in the power of collaboration, innovation, and building strong relationships with families and the community to ensure that all children have access to high-quality instruction. She is married to Kevin Meche, with two sons, Baylor and Jaxon, a loving daughter-in-law, Maddie, and is eagerly awaiting the arrival of her first grandchild in December.
With her deep understanding of content standards, curriculum, and effective instructional practices, Mrs. Meche is committed to advancing the district’s vision of providing exceptional educational opportunities for every student.
