St. Landry Parish Schools is proud to announce the appointment of Tonia Eaglin as the new Supervisor of Math and Science. With a distinguished career in education marked by leadership, innovation, and a passion for student success, Eaglin brings a wealth of experience to her new role.
Eaglin has served as Assistant Principal at both Opelousas Middle School and Lawtell Elementary, where she was instrumental in fostering positive school climates, supporting teacher growth, and ensuring academic excellence. In addition to her administrative leadership, she has held several critical district roles, including 504 District Coordinator, PBIS District Coordinator, Special Education Compliance Officer, and Title IX Coordinator, demonstrating her commitment to equity, student support, and compliance with educational standards.
Her leadership journey also includes serving as Principal of Plaisance Elementary, where she worked to strengthen instructional practices and build strong community partnerships. As a LINCS Coach, Eaglin provided professional development and coaching to teachers across the district, focusing on effective instructional strategies to improve student achievement.
Eaglin began her career as a classroom teacher at South Street Elementary, where she developed her deep commitment to ensuring all students have access to high-quality education in a supportive and engaging environment.
In her new role as Supervisor of Math and Science, Eaglin will lead district-wide efforts to strengthen curriculum alignment, instructional quality, and student outcomes in both subject areas. Her focus will be on equipping educators with the tools, resources, and training needed to prepare students for academic success and future opportunities.
